CODFORD ST PETER - UPTON LOVELL - UPTON GT BARROW
Led by Ron Moore on 20th October 2009

Photographs and Captions © Ron

Some 16 stalwart walkers, including two delightful children, joined the walk on a rather rainy October day. As it was so wet, only 2 photographs were taken on the day (nos 3 and 28) ;the others had been taken the week before and illustrate what might have been. The walk was enjoyed by all despite the weather.

We started from the old A36

and soon found ourselves on a well defined path

On the day of the walk it was rather wet!

part of the route was in deep shade

To the north we could see a barn we would pass later

An old house with a modern staircase

A corner in Upton Lovell

A garden with statues...

and a house called MizMaze

Upton Lovell church

Three heads, surely not...

No, they are Alpaca

Only the children saw a dovecote...

and a weathervane

This was our coffee stop

The views are splendid on a fine day

with intriguing glimpses east

and wispy clouds above

the way was rutted

but afforded good views

Before the final steep part
