PARK AND RIDE SCHEME
Certain walks offered by the South-Wiltshire group will suggest that drivers rendezvous at an appropriate Park & Ride car park, in order to share cars and to offer lifts to those without cars. Drivers with bus passes will be able to park free of charge, while others will have to pay the fee, currently £2.50 for all day parking. Drivers with passes will obtain tickets in the usual way from the machines. On return from the walk, they will use the 'Help' button and microphone on the payment machines to summon the attendant, who will verify the bus pass and then operate the barriers to enable the cars to exit the site.
Non-drivers will be able to use their passes to travel by bus to the P &R site to obtain lifts. Those hoping to be given lifts should ring the leader before 6 pm on the day prior to the walk, in order to make sure that there will be lifts available.
